On Monday 11th May, this morning we went over scenes 31 – 41 of “Our Day Out” with Rob and Shenagh. Everyone was focused on their lines so reading the script went smoothly. However, because of bad internet connection, Shenagh wanted to go over scene 32 again. This is one of the reasons I find online classes difficult because hearing who is supposed to read next makes the lesson longer. I feel my performance went well today: I took my time when saying my lines My voice was clear I was able to convey how my character Susan was feeling at that moment. E.g in scene 33, when confronting Reilly on the line “Well, Brian … I’m here” I spoke in a slow and flirty tone which made Reilly confused and nervous. I am enjoying this play because of Willy Russell’s ability to bring his characters to life, making the reader feel annoyed, happy and sympathetic through out the play.
