On Thursday 9th January we got into pairs, went
over our “Citizenship” scenes. The rehearsals of each scene went fine but
everyone needs to start learning their lines as our performance is in
February.
For my character I was focusing on
being excited and happy. She has experience with reading tarot cards and wants
positive results for her customers.
My objective is to make Tom believe in
what I am telling him as I want to make sure he gives me money.
Acting techniques, I was focusing on
were:
1. facial
expressions
2. Voice
3. Physicality
Whilst performing each scene, Rob took
notes of the class performing to give feedback.
Feedback from Rob:
1. Rob has given me permission to go
over the top.
2.We also need tarot cards for
props.
3. Good listening- listened to each
other.
4. Know my objective. My objective is
to make Tom believe what I’m saying.
5. know the subtext. Subtext – Toms confused
with his sexuality.
I am pleased with my feedback as it was
positive.
This was helpful because I now know how
to play my character.
These are some ideas of how I am going
to play her:
1. My voice projection is
going to be louder and clearer for the audience.
2. I will show emotion because
my character is caring.
3. I am thinking of
using my arms and hands to show how dramatic she is with the cards.
4. Depending on the line,
I will use different facial expressions.
